The story of a family is more than a record of names and dates. It is a story of place, faith, enterprise, service and the bonds that connect generations.
The family handbook, The Roots, records the Thottappilly family's origins in the Karoor region of Kerala and traces its lineage through the Ambookkan family. Its account places an important chapter in the family's beginnings around 1789, against the wider history of the region.
Across generations, family members have contributed to education, science, public service, professional life and community development. This website is a place to honour that history and keep the family story alive.
