The recorded beginnings
From Puthenchira to Karoor
The Roots: A Hand Book of Thottappilly Family Association traces the family's origins through the Ambookkan family of Puthenchira. Its account connects a movement from Puthenchira with the period of Tipu Sultan's campaigns around 1789, and records that Pali later acquired property known as Thottappillyparambu at Karoor.
The handbook records Pali's sons as Kunjavareeth and Thomas, and describes Thomas as having five sons: Inasu, Kunjippalu, Kochouseph, Kunjithoma and Augustine. Four principal family branches are associated with ancestral properties.
This is the historical account recorded in the family handbook. It is presented as family history, not as an independently verified historical conclusion.

A growing family record
The branch registers provide names and relationships across multiple generations. The full digital tree will identify each person’s parents, spouse and children where those links are explicitly supported by the records. Unclear entries, spelling differences and uncertain branch connections will be marked for review rather than inferred.
